Folk Art

Simple, hand-painted designs on eco urns and caskets. The urns and caskets themselves are made using Beetle Kill Pine wood by Nature's Casket in Longmont, Colorado, United States. I mix natural pigments and apply them freehand. All pieces are finished in walnut oil. Each is unique and custom orders are welcome. I am happy to be contacted to discuss specific designs. Tree designs are my favorite, although I also enjoy painting a variety of nature-inspired images. I have been creating these since 2015, continually refining my ways support a dust to dust and green approach to death and burial. Hand woven scarves, shawls, throw rugs, and altar cloths. I use the rigid heddle loom, and focus on hand weaving natural and up-cycled fibers. Each piece is different from the next, being uniquely designed or intuited. For wool pieces, I place an emphasis on ethics by learning about specific sheep and practices for their care. For vegan pieces, I use cotton, linen, and other vegan fibers that are machine washable. Up-cycled pieces may include a variety of found fibers. Earth tones are my favorite colors to use. As a member of my local Handweavers Guild, I sell in Colorado. I can also ship to the US and internationally if you would like to place a special order. Payments are made through Paypal. Rune sets and ogham staves made of natural materials. Runes and ogham are ancient symbols that have specific meanings. They can be used in a variety of ways for reflection, or to practice divination. To create these, I use branches of trees that I receive from cutting that takes place due to storms or annual pruning. I occasionally work with clay and stone as well. I draw the symbols using archival ink or by engraving. These must be special ordered, I create them upon request. I can ship to the US, and possibly internationally (please enquire). Payments are made through Paypal. Pieces come in a small cloth bag, and I can add a booklet or sheet of symbol meanings to the order if desired. Visit my gallery to see examples.
